What might be the most visually stunning and scientifically accurate dinosaur documentary in a generation will soon premiere on Apple TV+. The first full trailer for Prehistoric Planet shows it’ll explore many parts of the world of the dinosaurs, from the Arctic to the oceans.

If you can’t imagine a Tyranosaurus Rex being loving or nurturing, then you really need to watch this.

Prehistoric Planet lets you see dinosaurs as you never have before

A five-part series, Prehistoric Planet “combines award-winning wildlife filmmaking, the latest paleontology learnings and state-of-the-art technology to unveil the spectacular habitats and inhabitants of ancient Earth for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience,” according to Apple.

From the eye-opening parenting techniques of T. Rex to exploring the depths of the oceans and the deadly dangers in the sky, the goal of the documentary series is bringing Earth’s history to life like never before.

Set to debut globally on Apple TV+ from Monday, May 23 through Friday, May 27, Prehistoric Planet will present little-known and surprising facts of dinosaur life with stunning visuals.

It is being produced for Apple by BBC Studios Natural History Unit (creators of the Emmy-winning Planet Earth). It’ll also feature photorealistic visual effects from MPC (The Lion King, The Jungle Book).

Producer Jon Favreau is best known for Marvel and Star Wars films and series. And Mike Gunton has produced many nature documentaries, including The Year the Earth Changed for Apple.

Can’t get enough? There’s also a sneak peek of Prehistoric Planet starring a family of Tyrannosaurs.

This upcoming addition to Apple’s streaming service will join a number of other amazing nature documentaries, such as Earth at Night in Color and Tiny World. Watching any or all of of these comes with a $4.99-per-month subscription.

And, of course, Apple TV+ has a lot more to offer than documentaries. There are dramas, comedies, thrillers, sci-fi epics and more.
