There are youthful indiscretions, and then there are youthful indiscretions. When a celebration among college besties ends up with someone dead, and everyone figures they can escape blame, well, that’s something that might come back 20 years later to haunt … everyone.

Along those lines, Apple TV+ shared a roughly 2-minute peek Tuesday at its new bilingual thriller Now & Then. The eight-episode series is scheduled to debut on the streaming service May 20.

Apple TV+ released the trailer Tuesday for Now & Then, a bilingual, eight-episode thriller set to launch with three episodes on Friday, May 20, on Apple TV+. New episodes will air on Fridays through June 24.

Set in Miami, Now & Then is shot in both Spanish and English. The multi-layered thriller explores the differences between youthful aspirations and the realities of adulthood. The lives of a group of college best friends are forever changed after a celebratory weekend sees one of them turn up dead. Twenty years later, the remaining five are reluctantly reunited by a threat that puts their seemingly perfect worlds at risk.

The series’ ensemble cast includes Academy Award nominees Marina de Tavira and Rosie Perez, Ariel Award winner José María Yazpik, multi-Goya Award winner Maribel Verdú, Manolo Cardona, Goya Award winner Soledad Villamil, Emmy Award winner Željko Ivanek, Jorge López, Alicia Jaziz, Dario Yazbek Bernal, Alicia Sanz, Jack Duarte and Miranda de la Serna.

The series hails from Bambú Producciones and creators Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira. Campos serves as showrunner and the series is written by Neira, Campos and their team. Teresa Fernández-Valdés and Gideon Raff serve as executive producers; Raff also directs.

Now & Then joins a growing number of Apple Originals from international storytellers, including the acclaimed series Slow Horses. It’s an international espionage thriller starring Academy Award winner Gary Oldman. Pachinko is based on the acclaimed novel, and written and executive produced by Soo Hugh. And the recently renewed comedy Acapulco stars Eugenio Derbez.

Apple TV+ is available by subscription for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
