Apple TV+ said Tuesday its new workplace comedy Loot, starring Emmy Award winner Maya Rudolph, premieres Friday, June 24.

The accompanying first-look photo shows Rudolph and costars Joel Kim Booster and Ron Funches standing all in a row in an office. It looks like it could be an awkward moment. And isn’t that the bread and butter of workplace comedies?

Workplace comedy Loot with Maya Rudolph set to premiere June 24

In Loot, as Apple TV+ said, billionaire Molly Novak (Rudolph) has a dream life, complete with private jets, a sprawling mansion and a “gigayacht.” She can have anything her heart desires, really.

But when her husband of 20 years betrays her, she spirals publicly. She becomes fodder for tabloid headlines. As she hits bottom, she’s surprised to learn that she has a charity foundation run by the no-nonsense Sofia Salinas (Michaela Jaé Rodriguez). Sofia pleads with Molly to stop generating bad press.

And, hopefully, hilarity ensues when a whole team joins Molly’s on a journey of self-discovery. The team includes her devoted assistant, Nicholas (Kim Booster), as well as Sofia and her people, like mild-mannered accountant Arthur (Nat Faxon) and optimistic, pop-culture-loving Howard (Ron Funches).

Emmy Award-winning Alan Yang (Little America, Master of None) and Matt Hubbard (30 Rock, Forever) created the 10-episode series. It first three episodes air on Friday, June 24. A new episode follows weekly on Fridays.

The project marks the second collaboration between Apple TV+ and Yang. The first was the three-time Independent Spirit Award, BAFTA and NAACP Image Award-nominated anthology series Little America.

Rudolph, with Natasha Lyonne and Danielle Renfrew Behrens of Animal Pictures and Dave Becky of 3 Arts, serves as executive producer. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the show for Apple.

No stranger to comedies, Apple TV+ is available by subscription for $4.99 per month with a seven-day free trial.
