With Friday being the official launch day for sales of Apple’s new iPad Air (and the 5G iPhone SE), Apple has rolled out a new ad depicting high school students battling to become class president. The powerful new tablet is their primary weapon.
Apple’s new ‘Election’ ad shows the power of iPad Air and iPadOS
The YouTube spot, called “Election,” features high school students named Emma and Max using the well-reviewed new iPad Air to create their election campaigns.
Set to a soundtrack of “This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us,” by Sparks, the ad shows off the iPad Air’s camera, Apple Pencil support, 5G connectivity, messaging, keyboard compatibility and other features.

At the end of the roughly 1-minute spot — watch out for that sneaky Sonia, by the way — comes its familiar tagline: “Your next computer is not a computer.” It’s familiar because Apple has trotted it out for other iPads, including the iPad Pro.
As has been widely reported, the new iPad Air is now very similar to the current iPad Pro. Both tablets feature M1 chips and a Center Stage camera setup. It makes you wonder what features the upcoming refresh of the iPad Pro will include.
