With just hours to go until Apple kicks off its big Peek Performance event, the Apple Store has predictably closed its virtual doors.

“Be right back” reads the message that greets visitors who attempt to purchase anything through the company’s website this morning. When it returns, we expect a whole bunch of new additions, including an iPhone SE with 5G.

Apple Store goes down

Apple typically takes its online store offline ahead of a major keynote. It’s a telltale sign that the company is gearing up to introduce new products. And thanks to countless leaks in recent weeks, we have an idea of what to expect.

In addition to a new iPhone SE and entry-level iPad — both of which will likely pack 5G connectivity for the first time — it is believed Apple will also show off a new iPad Air powered by an M1 chip to match iPad Pro in performance.

We could also see a number of new Mac models that feature brand-new M2 chipsets, including a “Mac Studio.” And Apple could surprise us with a 27-inch desktop display that’s considerably more affordable than Pro Display XDR.
