If you suffer from a cluttered desktop — and who doesn’t, at least sometimes? — Choetech has something for you. Right now you can preorder its new Invisible Wireless Charger and take one more item off the junk pile.

Of course, unless you also suffer from some seriously magical thinking, you know it’s not literally invisible. But it does hide the charger under your desk so you can power up your iPhone or other Qi-enabled gadget right on the desktop without another piece of gear sitting there.

Choetech Invisible Wireless Charger for iPhone and more

Choetech’s new Invisible Wireless Charger is simply a charger for Qi-enabled devices that you literally screw in or stick to the underside of your desk. Add a provided induction target on the desktop, and, boom, you have a charging spot.

“Imagine you simply set the phone on top of a clean desk and it starts charging automatically,” Choetech enthuses on its product page. “That would just make people go WOW!”

That sounds about right. I know I went “wow” when I saw it. But in a lowercase way.

While the new charger offers up to 10W of charging power over a distance of 30mm — about the thickness of a desktop — the charging power depends on the device you’re charging. iPhones series 8 through 13 take a 7.5W charge (common for third-party chargers). Many Samsung models will take up to 10W, while other Qi-enabled phones may take only 5W. Other devices, such as AirPods and various earbud charging cases, take 2.5W.
