Apple Maps’ “detailed city experience” has landed in Philadelphia, where you can now see beautiful 3D buildings, landmarks and more.
First spotted by users on Twitter, the upgrade has since been confirmed by Apple’s website. Philadelphia joins London, Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., in the 3D experience.
3D Apple Maps comes to Philadelphia
Introduced alongside iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 this fall, the super-detailed 3D views give users a whole new way to explore cities inside Apple Maps. It makes significant buildings, statues and other landmarks come alive.
The feature is available only in a handful of big cities for now, as it was when it launched, but Apple is slowly expanding its reach. Philadelphia is the latest to get it, so visitors can now see maps in more detail as well as gorgeous models.
Although not everything you see will be in 3D, popular destinations — such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art, One Liberty Place, the Philadelphia City Hall and, of course, the Rocky Statue — have seen a big upgrade.
