Servant heads back to Apple TV+ for two more seasons of creepy fun

By

‘Servant’ Season 2 debuted in January 2021 on Apple TV+.
Look forward to two more seasons of psychological thrills from “Servant” on Apple TV+.

The third season of Servant is now scheduled to premier on Apple TV+ in January. And the streaming service is so pleased with the horror (and sometimes darkly humorous) show it went ahead and committed to a fourth season.

A new trailer should whet fans appetites for the upcoming new season.

Servant is horrorlicious

The first season of Servant on Apple TV+ introduced us to the Turner family, a couple who tragically lose their son Jericho. In his place, they adopt a lifelike doll, even hiring a nanny to take care of it. Then it got weird. Season two continued the psychological thrills and was even darker than its predecessor. It’s what you’d expect from a series with M. Night Shyamalan involved.

Critics reacted positively. Season one earned an 83% score on Rotten Tomatoes, while season two came in at 88%. Read the Cult of Mac review for more.

Apple TV+ isn’t saying much about what to expect in season three — that might ruin the surprises. But the trailer is full of creepy cultists, crawling vermin and (of course) more exquisitely photographed food.

Servant is the brainchild of producer/director M. Night Shyamalan and writer Tony Basgallop. If nothing else, it answers the question, “What has Rupert Grint been doing since Harry Potter?” He plays a major character, along with Toby Kebbell , Lauren Ambrose and Nell Tiger Free.

The 10-episode third season will kick off January 21, 2022. The fourth season will likely debut a year later. “With each suspense-filled season, viewers have been able to experience the living nightmares of these compelling characters on an increasingly deeper level and we can’t wait for everyone to see what’s in store as this gripping mystery takes another surprising turn in season four,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+.

The first two seasons are ready to be binge watched. Other horror series on Apple’s streaming service include Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story and Calls. Watching any of them requires a $4.99-per-month subscription.
