Apple threw a bone to iPhone owners who are also PC users on Wednesday. iCloud for Windows version 13 adds support for Apple ProRes videos and Apple ProRaw photos.

And there are other new features in the free app too, like greater control over iCloud Drive and the ability to generate strong passwords.

iCloud for Windows v13 is a major update

iPhone users don’t have to own a Mac. Apple offers iCloud for Windows to give PCs access to photos, videos, email, calendar, files, etc. (And there’s still iTunes.)

In addition to support for ProRes and ProRaw formats, the just-released PC version 13 allows participants in an iCloud Drive shared file or folder to change who has access to it.

Plus, the update builds on the iCloud Passwords app released in summer 2020. It now lets users generate strong passwords.

Available for PC now

iCloud for Windows can be downloaded from the Microsoft Store. It’s free, and requires Windows 10. Many features require Outlook 2016 or later.
