While the 2021 MacBook Pro brings back some classic ports, those who want USB-A need to turn to an adapter like the Satechi Pro Hub Mini. The accessory clips to the side of the notebook and adds a pair of USB-A ports and Ethernet.

Preorders began Wednesday with a 25% discount until the launch.

Bring additional ports to 2021 MacBook Pro

The Satechi Pro Hub Mini plugs into the two USB-C ports on the left edge of the 2021 MacBook Pro, without interfering with the MagSafe charger.

The hub includes two USB-A data (up to 5 Gbps) ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and a USB-C data (up to 5 Gbps) port. There’s also a pass-through USB-C port that supports up to 6K 60Hz displays, along with up to 96W of charging power and up to 40 Gbps of data transfer.

The MacBook’s audio port is covered by the hub, but it includes its own 3.5mm headset port.

No additional software or drivers are needed for any of these ports. It’s plug and play, making the accessory suited for hot desking.

“The Pro Hub Mini acts as an extension to the new laptops and is designed to expand port capabilities, offering a variety of essential ports in one sleek, user-friendly hub,” says Satechi.

The product is available for preorder now at Satechi.net for $69.99. Shipping is scheduled to begin in early January. Satechi is offering 25% off the Pro Hub Mini from its website until pre-orders end with code “PROHUB”.
