Premium audio brand Master & Dynamic adds gamers to its client list with the release of its first-ever headset for e-sports, the MG20 Wireless Gaming Headphones. Of course, being good for gamers almost certainly makes these cans a solid choice for anyone wanting high-quality noise-cancelling headphones for music and communication, too.
We wrote about M & D not long ago, when it branched out into a new market segment by adding a water-resistant “Sport” version of its MW08 earbuds with wireless charging. Those had impressive specs at $350, and the new MG20’s do, too, at $450.
New Master & Dynamic MG20 Wireless Gaming Headphones
The new MG20 headset looks sleek and most likely offers high-quality audio, with 50mm Beryllium drivers supporting 7.1 surround sound. That’s likely to create the appropriately immersive sonic experience for gaming sessions. The inclusion of aptX Low-Latency should keep mobile gaming delay-free, too.
And listening to music should also delight MG20 owners. The headset features Qualcomm aptX HD capability for premium audio. A semi-open-back design aims at providing a wide sound stage and natural audio quality.
For clear in-game communications, the headset includes a detachable boom microphone. An additional onboard mic array helps make online calls and meetings clear, too, even without the boom mic.
Battery life and connectivity
M & D estimates the MG20’s battery life at 22 hours on a single charge. An on-head detection feature help save battery life when the headphones are not in use.
The headset features independent volume controls for game audio. And the company is adding equalizer presets to its headphone app in tandem with the release of the MG20.
Users can rely on Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity or have a wired option with an included, low-latency USB-A adapter compatible with PlayStation and PC.
