Apple today kicked off a new promotion that offers six months of free Apple Music when you buy AirPods or select Beats headphones. It’s available only to new Apple Music subscribers who claim within 90 days of their purchase.

Apple Music is already a pretty sweet deal at $9.99 a month, and even better when you share it among a family of up to six people for just $14.99 a month. It offers millions of tracks, big exclusives, music videos, and Beats radio.

How to get 6 months of Apple Music for free

If you’re yet to try it out, perhaps six months of free Apple Music access can tempt you. All you need to do to qualify for the offer is purchase a new pair of AirPods or Beats headphones and sign up within 90 days.

These are the products that are eligible for the promotion:

  • AirPods
  • AirPods Pro
  • AirPods Max
  • Beats Studio Buds
  • Powerbeats
  • Powerbeats Pro
  • Beats Solo Pro

After pairing one of these devices with your iPhone or iPad, you’ll see a prompt within the Apple Music app, inviting you to enjoy a six-month free trial. However, you won’t be able to claim it if you’ve used Apple Music before, Apple says.

It should also be noted that you’ll only see the prompt after you’ve updated your devices to iOS or iPadOS 15, which rolled out to everyone on Monday.
