The LG 32” UltraFine Display OLED Pro Monitor is a new option for creative professionals who need a top-tier display. It offers a million-to-one contrast ratio and a very wide color gamut.

The screen is aimed at the same market as Apple’s Pro Display XDR. And has a price tag to match.

LG 32” UltraFine Display OLED Pro Monitor checks all the boxes

LG promises the “UltraFine OLED Pro offers the ideal workstation setup for visual technology.” That starts with a resolution of 3840 by 2160 pixels at a 16:9 aspect ratio. And the screen covers 99% of the industry-standard DCI-P3 (Typ.) and Adobe RGB (Typ.) color spectrum. That’s 1.07 billion colors.

It is, of course, an OLED. This type of screen is considered superior to LCD panels in picture quality because each pixel glows on its own with no need for a backlight. LG’s display offers 178 degrees of viewing angles, and the maximum brightness is 250 nits.

The UltraFine OLED Pro has a range of connectivity options including a USB-C port, two DisplayPorts, an HDMI port and three USB ports. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack.

With high-end specs like these it’s not surprise LG’s price is $3999.99. It can be ordered from B&H for that price now.

Versus Apple

LG’s newest invites comparison to the Pro Display XDR, Apple’s biggest, most spectacular monitor to date. It also has a million-to-one contrast ratio, supports the P3 color gamut and Extreme Dynamic Range, and hits 1,600 nits of brightness.

This 32-inch display has a higher resolution, though. It’s 6K so 6016 by 3384 pixels. And it offers 1000 nits full screen brightness.

And the price tag for the Apple Pro Display XDR is higher. It starts at $4999 but goes to $5999 with nano-texture glass. And a stand or VESA Mount Adapter are sold separately.
