Apple has yet to unveil the iPhone 13 but a survey shows that nearly half of current iPhone users are ready to upgrade. The potential buyers are making the decisions are apparently based on rumored features, and the survey totals which ones people are most looking forward to.
The survey done by SellCell found that 43.7% of iPhone owners intend are ready for Apple’s next model.
And the model they want most is the standard 6.1-inch iPhone 13 (38%), followed by the premium 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max (31%), the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro (24%) and the tiny 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini (7%).
Given the apparently low interprets, it’s not surprising that Apple is allegedly phasing out the iPhone mini line after this model.
Most-desired iPhone 13 features
With the official unveiling not expected until September at the earliest, interest in the 2021 iPhone is heavily based on rumored features. SellCell’s survey found that potential buyers are most interested in a display with a higher refresh rate (22%), something many sources have indicated is coming on Apple’s next handset.
18% of respondents are looking forward to under-display Touch ID. Apple began moving iOS away from fingerprint scanners back in 2017 in favor of Face ID but Touch ID still appears in many other Apple products.
More changes to the screen are also near the top the list. An always-on display is the most-anticipated iPhone 13 feature for 16% of survey respondents. And SellCell found that making the screen notch smaller or completely gone is what 11% of potential buyers are most hoping for.
Either more battery capacity or more storage space essentially tied with 8% of respondents preferring one or the other.
iPhone 13 features people apparently don’t much care about are reverse wireless charging, WiFi 6E, or a portless design. Each of these came in under 2% in the survey.
To get these results, SellSell surved more than 3000 iPhone users, aged 18 years or older, based in the US. That’s not enough to make this a truly scientific survey. But the sample group is large enough that it should be generally indicative of trends.
