Master & Dynamic’s MW08 earbuds came out earlier this year to widespread acclaim for their quality and durability. Now the company has released a new “Sport” version that adds wireless charging and an even heftier pricetag — $349.

The original MW08s are made of ceramic material and come in a stainless steel case, not a charging case. That’s a significant omission in a $300 set of earbuds. But Master & Dynamic has rectified the situation. The new MW08 Sport True Wireless Earphones are made of hard sapphire glass and come in a kevlar charging case.

Long battery life with a kevlar charging case

The MW08 Sport earbuds offer 12 hours of battery life on a single charge. The kevlar charging case provides an additional 30 hours.

And if you also pick up Master & Dynamic’s new MC100 Wireless Charge Pad, released at the same time as the Sport earbuds, you have another charging option. The pad, made of coated canvas and aluminum with a woven kevlar finish to match the earbuds, provides 10W of charging power.

Master & Dynamic: quality sound

Aside from what they’re made of and the wireless charging option, the new MW08 Sport earbuds are similar to the original MW08 earbuds. They use the same 11mm Beryllium drivers as well as Qualcomm’s Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation.

And it’s unlikely you’ll have troubled fitting the new earbuds. The company includes seven different ear-tips, five made of silicone and two made of foam, to help make sure you get the right fit.

The earbuds claim a water-resistance rating of IPX5. The kevlar case’s rating is IPX4. So feel free to sweat on the earbuds while working out, or even wear them in the rain, but don’t submerge them in water.

The MC100 Wireless Charge Pad costs $69.
