Apple’s newest “Behind the Mac” ad shines a spotlight on Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, and other Canadian artists who use a Mac to bring their creations to life. But it seems to forget that Apple makes desktops, too.

Check out the new 30-second video, titled “Made in Canada,” below.

Apple machines are hugely popular among creatives, not only because they’re the coolest computers money can buy (and easy to use), but also due to the robust catalog of creative software built for macOS.

Titles like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, and third-party software like Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom make a Mac the perfect tool for many professionals. The “Behind the Mac” campaign reminds us of that.

Made in Canada … on a Mac

“Made in Canada” is a short, 30-second video that features a bunch of Canadian artists, including Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Jessie Reyez, Charlotte Cardin, and Daniel Caesar.

They’re all pictured using a Mac to make music and direct movies and videos. And, rather interestingly, each uses a MacBook, with not a single iMac, Mac mini, or Mac Pro seen in the video.

“Behind the Mac, Canadians are making a major impact on global music culture through their creativity,” reads Apple’s YouTube description for the ad. “And doing it on a Mac.”

More from Behind the Mac

Previous Behind the Mac ads have featured other big names from across the music and entertainment industry, including Tom Hanks, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Pharrell Williams.

You can watch them all on Apple’s official YouTube channel, where you’ll also find other promotional videos and ads for Apple devices and recaps from the company’s biggest keynote events, like WWDC 2021.
