Though cloud storage has made drive-based storage seem a little like an also-ran, local, portable, physical storage still has a place. So it’s good companies still try to improve it. TeamGroup has released three speedy new USB-3.2 flash drives, including one that carries the name “Extreme Speed.”

The three drives features distinct design features, such as a push-pull slide, a hinge or a cap to protect connectors. Different capacities and speeds make them suitable to different needs.

C211 USB 3.2 Extreme Speed Drive

The C211 is the speediest and biggest of the three, capacity-wise. Even though the sleek device fits in a pocket and weighs just 9 grams, it holds 1TB of data,” the company said.

“With the latest USB 3.2 Gen 2 high speed interface, the 1TB C212 Extreme Speed Drive transfers data faster than any other USB drive in the market. With the reading speed at 600 MB/s and writing at 500 MB/s, a 10 GB high quality audiovisual file can be transferred in only about 30 seconds,” the company said.

The C211 comes in 512GB and 256GB storage capacities, in addition to 1TB.

Price has not yet been announced. Availability is expected by late July.

M211 USB 3.2 OTG Flash Drive

The lightweight, compact M211 OTG flash drive comes with USB Type A and Type C dual interfaces with a reading speed up to 150 MB/s, the company said. That makes it easy to use with a variety of devices.

TeamGroup added that the M211 adopts a newly patented foldable design, so users don’t have to worry about losing a cap. The body of the drive is both waterproof and dustproof.

The M211 comes in four capacities ranging from 32TB to 256GB.

Price has not yet been announced. Availability is expected by late July.

Made with aluminium alloy in oxford blue, the C211 flash drive is attractive, durable and sleek. Its cap can be placed on the drive’s opposite end, so it’s harder to lose it, the company said. The C211 has the USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, so it transfers data at a lower speed than the others, but it can handle 4K videos.

The C211 comes in five capacities, ranging from 16GB up to 256GB.
