HyperJuice Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack for iPhone 12 makes charging as easy as placing the power bank on the back of Apple’s latest handsets. The two devices will cling together while the iPhone is getting juiced up, no wires or clips necessary.

The new HyperJuice 5000mAh battery pack takes advantage of the batteries Apple built into the back of the iPhone 12. Just place the accessory on the handset to begin inductive charging.

Note that magnets in the handsets are necessary, which means that this accessory only works with the iPhone 12 series. But it supports all four of the models.

HyperJuice battery pack isn’t exactly MagSafe

The magnets in the iPhone 12 are part of the MagSafe system, but Sanho’s new battery pack doesn’t fully support MagSafe. That means it’s limited to 7.5 watts of wireless power. Accessories that do support the new system offer 15W charging… but there are at present no clip-on batteries that are MagSafe compliant.

The HyperJuice power bank is itself recharged through a 12W USB-C port. Or this can be used to charge another device.

The peripheral has to be small to stay attached to the iPhone. It’s 3.8 inches by 2.5 inches by 0.6 inches, and weighs 0.3 pounds.

Sanho’s HyperJuice Magnetic Wireless Battery Pack launched Monday at HyperShop. It’s priced at $39.99.

Rival clip-on batteries

Other accessory makers are bringing out their own power banks that cling to the iPhone 12 series with magnets. That includes the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K. Like the HyperJuice model, this also doesn’t fully support MagSafe.

Apple is reportedly working on one that is truly MagSafe but it’s reportedly having difficulties making it work.
