Vizio SmartCast TVs now supports the Apple TV app. This makes it easier for users of these smart TVs in the US and Canada to watch Apple TV+, the company’s streaming video service.

To sweeten the deal, Apple is offering a free three-month subscription to users of these smart screens.

“With the Apple TV app coming to Vizio SmartCast TVs, customers can enjoy an even broader range of exciting entertainment, including the popular and award-winning Apple TV+ service,” said Mike O’Donnell, Chief Revenue Officer of Vizio.

Apple’s streaming app runs on any SmartCast TV made since 2016. The Apple TV app is also available on select Samsung, LG, and Amazon Fire TV devices.

The application brings access to Apple TV+, which has over three dozen shows and movies either available now, or coming soon. Just a few of the options include Greyhound, a feature film about World War II starring Tom Hanks. Or there’s a reboot of the anthology sci-fi series Amazing Stories. And fans of crime drama can take in Defending Jacob.

For a limited time, eligible SmartCast customers in the US can sign up for Apple TV+ and receive three months free.

But wait. There’s more!

Plus, the Apple TV app lets users buy or rent over 100,000 movies and TV shows, including titles available in 4K HDR and with Dolby Atmos, as well as access their library of movie and TV show purchases from Apple.

In addition, Vizio previously added Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit capabilities to SmartCast TVs. With AirPlay 2, users can stream, control, and share content directly from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac to the smart TV. HomeKit is Apple’s home-automation system.
