We talk 14-inch MacBook Pro and a BIG Apple Maps update
This week’s Apple news
- Apple gave everyone access to the iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 betas on Thursday. The public betas give everyone access to the next big features coming to Apple mobile devices.
- Apple suppliers will begin competing to win manufacturing orders for new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with Mini-LED displays in the first quarter of 2021, according to Taiwanese research firm TrendForce.
- Tom Hanks made a few not-so-flattering comments about the “Apple overlords” in an interview about his new World War II movie, Greyhound. The film, which was originally supposed to launch in theaters, was pulled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead, it will premiere on Apple TV+ this Friday — and Hanks called the situation an “absolute heartbreak.” However, he subsequently reversed course and took control of the narrative. Greyhound was “rescued at sea by a convoy with a big Apple logo with a bite taken out of it,” the veteran actor said.
