Summer is just starting but Apple is already thinking back-to-school. College students and teachers can save up to $200 on a MacBook or iMac. Or up to $100 on iPads. And get a pair of AirPods gets thrown in for free.

In previous years, Apple’s back-to-school promo always included Beats headphones. This is the first time AirPods have been part of the deal instead.

The promise is spelled out on Apple’s back-to-school page, “Shop for a Mac or iPad with education pricing and get AirPods on us. You can even upgrade to AirPods Pro.”

Apple back-to-school deals on Mac and iPad

Apple offers a range of deals on macOS devices to college students, as well as teachers. For example, the new 13-inch MacBook Air is as little as $899, which is $100 off the regular cost. iMac pricing starts at $1,049, or $50 off. Or a 16-inch MacBook Pro can be had for $2,199, down $200 for the usual.

Plus, there are deals on tablets. An iPad Air starts at $479, which is $20 of the regular cost. iPad Pro is as little as $749, or $50 off.

And free AirPods

Order a Mac or iPad through Apple’s educational portal and get a pair of AirPods free. Add a wireless charging case for $40. Or upgrade to AirPods Pro for $90.

Apple back-to-school deals are not available to K-12 students. Education pricing is restricted to “current and newly accepted college students and their parents, as well as faculty, staff, and homeschool teachers of all grade levels.”
