Xfinity Mobile subscribers can now add 5G service to their wireless phone service at no extra cost. This includes every plan offered by the telecom, not just pricy unlimited plans.

This company resells Verizon services, and that carrier now has 5G in parts of 34 major cities.

Xfinity Mobile 5G for everyone

New and current Xfinity Mobile customers can choose from a range of plans, all of which include 5G. Options start with 1 GB for $15, 3 GB for $30 or 10 GB for $60. It’s an additional $15 got every gigabyte over the limit. Unlimited is $45 per month — though the carrier begins throttling data speeds after 20GB.

Verizon is still rolling out the 5G service that Xfinity Mobile resells. Currently, it’s available in sections of Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Memphis, Miami, Minneapolis, Spokane, St. Paul, and Washington, D.C., as well as other municipalities.

At this time, the launch of the first 5G iPhone isn’t expected until autumn. There are a handful of Android devices that can already connect to the faster replacement for 4G, however.

But you have to ask

Xfinity Mobile doesn’t automatically enroll current customers into plans that include 5G. It’s necessary to ask the telecom to make the change. But the company tries to make modifications to plans a breeze.

“From day one, Xfinity Mobile has been proud to be the only provider to empower customers to design a mobile plan that fits their needs, as well as have the flexibility to seamlessly switch between unlimited or per gig to save money. We’re excited to now extend that benefit with 5G data plans,” said Rui Costa, Senior Vice President, Innovation & Customer Value Propositions, Comcast Cable, in a statement.
