The health experts say we can’t be too cautious in preventing the spread of a deadly coronavirus.
Caviar, the Russian brand that gold-plates and bejewels iPhones, is doing its part by turning to silver and its antibacterial properties for a line of iPhone 11 Pro cases.
For extra protection, you can pick one of four sacred cultural symbols representing health and good fortune.
Silver is known to kill germs when it oxidizes, releasing silver ions lethal to yeast and bacteria.
Caviar stops short of saying the new iPhones represent a silver bullet in the fight against COVID-19. Whether the suggestion that the iPhones have health benefits smacks of opportunity, you can draw your own conclusion.
Caviar, if nothing else, is consistent. The brand is known for responding to events with iPhones customized to feature newly-elected world leaders, soccer championships and even the latest ballistic missile flying over the head of President Vladimir Putin. Caviar is, after all, a Russian company.
The iPhones are plated in silver while the protective symbols are in gold (you know, to promote good circulation). One has an image of St. Nicholas, who got his title for having a knack for curing illnesses.
A personal favorite features the Hand of Fatima which protects from harm and the “evil eye.” There is also a blooming lotus for spiritual pureness and balance and a handset featuring a coiling dragon for peace and prosperity.
“The precious materials and powerful amulets are designed to protect their owner from harmful bacterial, restore emotional balance and help overcome stresses during this hard time,” the news release says. “The modern world meets us with hard times that require mobilization of all inner and outer resources.”
The silver iPhones start at $5,290.
