Oscar-nominated actress Uma Thurman will join the Apple TV+ family as the star of a new thriller called Suspicion.

The drama series, which does not have a release date, is based on an award-winning series in Israel called False Flag, the rights of which Apple purchased last year.

In announcing Thurman’s signing, Apple describes Suspicion as a high-paced thriller about the kidnapping of the son of a prominent American businesswoman. The abduction from a New York hotel is captured on video and goes viral.

Thurman starred in two Quentin Tarantino films, Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction, for which she earned an Academy Award nomination for best-supporting actress.

Thurman plays the businesswoman. Her co-stars include Kunal Nayyar of The Big Bang Theory, Noah Emerich, Georgina Campbell, Elyes Gabel, Elizabeth Henstridge and Angel Coulby.

Golden Globe winner Chris Long with direct and serve as an executive producer alongside showrunner Rob Williams.

Apple said the series will be produced in the United Kingdom by Keshet Productions, which was behind the series in Israel.

Suspicion adds to the growing list of original programs Apple is creating for its upstart streaming service.
