Edison Mail, a popular third-party email client on iOS, is finally making the leap to Mac.
It ships with a number of nice features that give it an edge over the built-in Mail app. And it sports a cleaner, more modern user interface with a number of customization options.
There’s just one catch.
Mac users have been voicing their Mail complaints for many years. It can be slow and unreliable, particularly for power users, and it has failed to keep up with the features offered by third-party email services.
Fortunately, there are lots of great alternatives out there, with Edison Mail being the latest. It started making a name for itself in 2016, when it was known as EasilyDo Email, and today it’s better than ever.
Edison Mail finally lands on macOS
Edison is an independent email client focused primarily on helping user regain control of their inbox. Its big draw is its speed and use of artificial intelligence to intelligently filter your mail.
Edison can separate all your messages into different categories, like travel, receipts, and entertainment. Or you can filter by things like sender, subject, time, and more.
The app makes it easy to unsubscribe from mailing lists and block individual senders. It also boasts features like dark mode and a powerful search tool.
Edison promises security
Edison is ideal for the privacy-conscious, too. It promises users are free from ad-targeting and ad trackers, and it can block all read receipts from tracking your emails (without disabling images).
The service is free to use and won’t show you a single ad. And for the first time ever, you can now enjoy it on Mac. But you’ll need to sign up for an invite first; Edison isn’t quite available to everyone just yet.
You can download Edison without an invite on iOS and Android. And a Windows app is coming in 2020.
