Everyone who was busy ogling the “cheesegrater” design of the 2019 Mac Pro can be forgiven for not paying attention to the keyboard. But Apple is prepping multiple keyboards that match the silver-and-black look of this powerful desktop.
An image of one of these not publicly seen before has come to light.
A second 2019 Mac Pro keyboard option
During the launch of the Mac Pro at WWDC in June, Apple paired this computer with an extended keyboard that has black keys and a silver casing, not a current option.
Well-known developer Steve Troughton-Smith today turned up an image showing an alternative version in this color combination that’s just the standard keyboard, without a numberpad attached.
I somehow missed the fact that the new Mac Pro has a line of silver and black accessories instead of the Space Gray of the iMac Pro pic.twitter.com/i8GkDv8Kut

The only current version of of the Magic Keyboard without a numberpad has white keys and a silver casing, so the black-on-silver combination is new.
Apple’s Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad is available with black keys but a Space Grey casing, or with white keys and a silver casing. There’s currently no black-on-silver version of this either.
Presumably, these keyboards in the fresh colors will launch along with the 2019 Mac Pro, with buyers of this computer given the option to add them to their carts. And they’ll almost certainly be available to any Apple Store shopper eventually.
Exactly when Apple’s new professional-grade desktop will be available is unknown, but it could be any day now.
