The 16-inch MacBook Pro has reportedly begun shipping in volume, indicating the much-anticipated Apple laptop could arrive later this month
October has just 10 days remaining and rumors about a 16-MacBook have kept us guessing for most of this year. Some reports said to expect an October announcement. Others said it would be delayed until 2020.
The Taiwan-based tech news site DigiTimes is reporting the latest rumored update, citing unnamed supply chain sources. Quanta Computer is reportedly shipping the newest MacBook, which is expected to feature an improved scissor keyboard, thinner bezels and the latest Intel processor.
DigiTimes is considered hit-or-miss with its breaking news regarding Apple, according to our colleagues at MacRumors.
So, what to believe?
If two rumors are better than one, then the DigiTimes report pairs nicely with last Friday’s buzz, when a French Apple blog showed off a hidden icon of a thin-bezel MacBook in the latest beta version of macOS Catalina.
Some claimed it as proof that a 16-inch model is en route, while others dismissed it because they thought the icon looked no different than the current 15-inch MacBook Pro.
News of a 16-inch high-end MacBook first surfaced in February, when analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said Apple would release the new MacBook with a better scissor keyboard by the end of the year.
