iPadOS just launched, and Apple wants tablet owners to know why they should upgrade. Its short video hits the highlights, like accessing full contents of USB drives, the advantages of editing video on a larger screen, and much more.

The video, titled “Look what you can do with iPadOS,” zips through features in just a minute. Apple’s description says “Introducing iPadOS. Now iPad is even more capable, with powerful new features, including effortless multitasking and desktop-class browsing.”

iPadOS 13 is a game changer

The overview starts with how easy it is to switch between apps, then demos the slide-to-type keyboard designed for faster one-finger text entry.

The video swiftly moves on to iPadOS 13.1’s ability to take a screenshot of a whole webpage, mark it up with an Apple Pencil, and turn it all into a PDF.

Next, Apple shows off how the contents of a thumbdrive is plugged into a tablet now appear in the Files app. And, as mentioned, the video finishes by showing the video-editing capabilities of iPadOS.

In such a quick overview, there apparently wasn’t time to mention other enhancements, including mouse support, a much-improved Safari browser, the way many applications can now have two or more windows open, and the addition of home screen widgets.

Anyone inspired to upgrade their tablet can do so immediately, as today is the launch of iPadOS 13.1.
