In a galaxy not so far away (our galaxy, actually) a brand new Star Wars game is on its way to iOS.

Lego Star Wars Battles is a brand new deck-building strategy game that will feature content from all nine of the Star Wars movies — including all your favorite characters and locations.

Lego crossover games always prove to be popular. That’s probably why we have so many. We’ve already seen five Lego Star Wars games since the original in 2005, and they’ve all been pretty great.

We’re expecting big things from Lego Star Wars Battles, then — but it sounds like it’s going to be very different from the rest.

What to expect from Lego Star Wars Battles

This isn’t your typical Lego adventure game. Instead, it’s a card game in which players assemble a deck of characters and vehicles from all eras of the Star Wars galaxy, then lead them into battle.

We don’t know much about it so far. There is no trailer or even any screenshots. But the short description promises content from all nine saga films, and the ability to collect iconic heroes and villains.

They include Luke Skywalker, Rey, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Boba Fett, and Darth Vader. Plus Porgs, Stormtroopers, Battle Droids, and a variety of different vehicles, from AT-ATs to the Millennium Falcon.

Out in 2020

The game is being developed by TT Games — the same studio behind Lego City Undercover, Lego Marvel Superheroes 2, and lots of other Lego titles — and it will be free-to-play.

You’ll be able to get your hands on it next year, but we don’t have a more specific release date for Lego Star Wars Battles just yet.
