T-Mobile is so eager to get people to try its network, the company is giving away wireless hotspots. These are good for a month or 30GB of data, and are intended to let potential customers see how well T-Mobile service works at their home, office or school.
This telecom has a bad reputation as being mostly available only in big cities. This promotion seems intended to overcome that.
Take a free Test Drive
“At T-Mobile, the strength of our network speaks for itself … we’re so confident in it, we’re giving people a free 30-day test drive,” said John Legere, CEO of T-Mobile. “Our network is open for anyone to try because we have nothing to hide — can your carrier say that?”
The new trial program is called Test Drive, and Legere introduced it in a video:
Get a free hotspot
T-Mobile says that customers of rival carriers can go to its website to sign up for Test Drive. The company will ship them a hotspot free of charge.
This can be used for 30 GB of data or 30 days, whichever comes first.
“After the trial, drop the hotspot off at any T-Mobile store or hand it off to a friend. Hell, put it under that wobbly table leg. That’s it,” promises the company.
