Apple Music subscribers in Germany can now stream their favorite tracks on Amazon Echo speakers. You’ll need to add the Apple Music skill via the Alexa app to get started.

Apple teamed up with Amazon to offer Apple Music to Echo owners last December. Users in the U.S. saw the functionality first, but it has been slowly expanding its reach to new markets.

Apple Music subscribers in Germany can start enjoying it today.

Apple Music expands its reach on Echo speakers

Apple has started emailing customers in Germany to confirm the expansion, according to iFun. It’s not clear if the feature is live for everyone yet, but it is certainly on its way.

You can enable Apple Music streaming in the Alexa app by going into the Settings menu, selecting Music, then Link New Service. Tap Apple Music, then Enable, and sign in with your Apple ID.

Making Apple Music number 1

Your Echo will continue to use Amazon Music by default, so you’ll need to ask Alexa to play tracks and albums “on Apple Music.” However, you can make Apple Music the default if you wish.

You can do this by going back into Settings, choosing Default Services, then selecting Apple Music.

Once Apple Music is selected as your primary music service, you won’t need to end your requests with “on Apple Music.” You can simply ask Alexa to play whatever track, album, or playlist you desire and it’ll know which service to use.
