Apple’s work on iOS 12 isn’t quite done just yet.
Even though WWDC 2019 and the debut of iOS 13 is less than a month away, Apple is out with its first beta of iOS 12.4 today. The new beta comes less than a week after Apple released iOS 12.3 to the public, bringing the new Apple TV app to the masses along with tons of bug fixes and performance improvements for iPhone and iPad.
iOS 12.4 beta 1 is available to download from Apple’s online developer portal. Apple also seeded watchOS 5.3 beta 1, tvOS 12.4 beta 1 and macOS Mojave 10.14.6 beta 1 to developers today as well.
Registered developers can install iOS 12.4 beta 1 on iPhones and iPad by adding the proper installation profile to their devices and then checking in the Software Update section of the Settings app.
What’s inside iOS 12.4?
Release notes for iOS 12.4 don’t mention any major changes but we expect that the biggest new addition is support for Apple Card. Apple revealed its consumer-friendly credit card service during a keynote in March. Apple Card is expected to launch this summer so Apple couldn’t wait until iOS 13 to add it because iOS 13 won’t be ready for launch until the fall.
iOS 12.4 beta 1 also contains a ton of bug fixes and performance improvements. We’ll let you know what new goodies we discover in the update once we get it installed on our devices.
