3D printed mockups claiming to show two of the 2019 iPhone models have surfaced in Asia. These include the triple camera lenses that have been a part of so many unconfirmed reports about these devices.

Watch a video showing these mockups compared to the 2018 iPhone XS-series:

These models were obtained by Macotakara from the Chinese retail site Alibaba.

This is an echo of the past. Months before their release, mockups of the 2018 iPhones surfaced in exactly the same way. These turned out to be extremely accurate.

iPhone 11? iPhone XI? Maybe

The comparison of the latest two mockups with last year’s handsets shows that these are apparently the replacements for the iPhone XS Max and the iPhone XS.

From the front, there appear to be no significant changes, but both the new models are about half a millimeter thicker than their predecessors. This could be to make room for the internal coils needed for wireless power sharing, a feature that’s allegedly coming to these devices.

The real changes apparently coming to the 2019 iPhones show up on their backs. The dual-lens cameras are replaced by triple-lens ones. This enhancement has been rumored for months. These mockups don’t reveal the resolutions of the various lenses, of course. Earlier rumors have indicated that the addition could be a wide-angle lens.

Whether these show the actual 2019 iPhone models likely won’t be known for months. These iOS 13 handsets aren‘t expected until this autumn.
