Part of the appeal of owning a MacBook is showing it off, especially if you’ve personalized it. The Urban Armor Gear Plyo is a protective case made of translucent plastic so the exterior of this svelte notebook can still be seen.

“The slim composite construction combines an impact resistant core with air soft corners, providing users with unmatched protection needed for on-the-go work,” promises UAG.

UAG Plyo is protective but usable

The Plyo is held closed with two locks, it offers a tactile grip so it won’t slip out of your hands, and the case meets military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6). Still, there are cooling vents. and the case allows easy access the MacBook’s ports.

There’s no word yet on the weight of this product, nor exactly how much it increases the size of the MacBook.

This hardcase debuted today on the Urban Armor Gear website for $79.95. It’s available only in the translucent option.

The latest Plyo case is compatible with just the MacBook Air 13-inch (2018), model A1932. It doesn’t fit any earlier laptops in the Air series. This accessory maker does offer a protective case for the previous versions of this computer, but the UAG Plasma isn’t translucent.
