Spark, the popular email client from Readdle, now lets you turn messages into tasks and delegate them to your colleagues.

The feature is available inside the latest Spark update on Mac and iOS. Readdle says it will be particularly useful for CEOs, managers, and team leaders who need to pass on communications and keep track of their progress.

We all get emails we don’t really want to deal with. Unfortunately for most of us, we can’t just leave them for someone else to deal with. That’s not the case if you run a business or lead a team, however.

It’s common for business leaders, managers, and other senior staff members to pass on emails to their colleagues as tasks. And Spark just made the whole process a lot easier — and more efficient.

Spark turns emails into shareable tasks

Email delegation inside Spark is simple. When you get a message you need to pass onto someone else, you simply assign it to another person as if it was a task. You can add your own message to the email, and set a deadline.

Spark then lets you keep track of the progress, and provides you with a notification once the task is complete. The short video below shows the feature in action.

What makes email delegation special is that it negates the need for senior staff to share their inboxes with their colleagues. Their emails remain private and secure, and only those that need to be shared are passed on.

Get email delegation with Spark for Teams

Email delegation is a part of Spark for Teams, so you’ll need to create a Team before you can start using it. Teams is a Spark Premium feature, which means you’ll need to subscribe for $7.99 per user, per month.

You can try the new feature before subscribing, however. Readdle will let you delegate up to 10 emails per Team before you have to cough up.
