Apple has updated its iCloud client for Windows to restore syncing with the Windows 10 October 2018 update.

Microsoft’s most recent release prevented iCloud for Windows from being installed or syncing for many users. The company actually halted its rollout for iCloud users as a result.

The Windows 10 October update shipped with a variety of issues, but those that plagued iCloud users could only be addressed by Apple. Now, iCloud version 7.8.1 has arrived.

iCloud users can continue syncing with Windows

The latest release eliminates install and sync issues, allowing those who already updated their PCs to continue using iCloud again.

Those who already had iCloud installed and were blocked from installing the Windows 10 October update should be able to access it again. Microsoft recommends updating iCloud before updating Windows, however.

Microsoft is already testing a release that will rectify other problems with its latest Windows update. Insiders can get their hands on the preview now, but it shouldn’t be too long before it rolls out to all.
