A first look at the simple, black packaging, I can tell Nyloon knows what they’re doing. The company’s logo is clearly present as is a few of its band designs and some quick installation tips. The slim box has an outer cover that allows for easy removal, and the box design itself doesn’t distract from Nyloon’s distinctive trademark. Simply slide the cover off to reveal the vibrant band displayed inside. The band itself rests snuggly amidst a soft, cushioned material.
Inside, the ballistic-grade nylon material of the Moai band feels textured and lightweight yet impressively durable — not far from its original predecessor, the NATO straps, created by the British Ministry of Defense in 1973 which were built to withstand combat! Nyloon’s cool, contemporary nylon watch bands echo those early versions while breathing new life into Apple Watch. These lightweight, comfortable and breathable straps are built to withstand adverse weather conditions without compromising one’s personal style.
Although it’s wearability and rich colors initially drew me in, my favorite thing about the Moai band is the hand-stitched, tribal pattern. I really feel like I’m wearing a special piece made just for me. Not to mention the intricate stitching compliments its sleek steel adapters and buckle.
