Survival Straps’ paracord Apple Watch bands are a big hit with Watch Store customers. These custom-made bands are the real deal, made with military-grade materials and great craftsmanship — yet the unboxing experience isn’t what we expected.

I know what you’re thinking. Did I just pay $49.99 for my watch band to come in a plastic baggie? We thought the same thing, and you how Cult of Mac loves a good unboxing. While Survival Straps’ packaging is barebones, the contents speaks for itself and doesn’t disappoint. Let’s check it out.

Best List: Survival Straps Paracord Apple Watch Bands

At first look, the packaging didn’t impress us. Upon closer consideration, we can appreciate the costs that go into product packaging and realize that Survival Straps puts this money primarily into the build quality of its straps. The quality is evident. Feeling the strap for the first time, I’m not surprised by its durability. I was, however, surprised by its flexibility. I expected rough textures and stiffness. But, the more you wear it the more supple it becomes. This results in a really comfortable and familiar fit over time.

In terms of style, function and form go hand in hand here. The 12 feet of unbreakable woven paracord wraps around the wrist with its unique design and two-tone colors. The paracord is woven into the stainless steel Apple Watch adapters, ensuring that the straps attach seamlessly to Apple watch. The most interesting aspect of this design is the shackle closure’s breakaway pin. If the band gets stuck or caught on something the pin will break apart when significant force is applied. This is truly a one-of-a kind band ready to deploy in any number of emergency situations.

Each and every paracord Apple Watch band is custom made-to-order with over 50 paracord color options. Survival Straps prides itself on strength, style and purpose. There’s no smoke or mirrors here, considering the company is using the highest-quality marine-grade 316 steel for its shackles and authentic, military-grade 550 paracord for the strap itself. This thing is indestructible, and is not a cheap imitation. The stainless steel features are as tough as it gets with three different size adjustments. They will last forever and won’t break or rust.
