While Apple was busying announcing two new 13-inch MacBook Pros today, the company quietly killed the smallest notebook it makes.

Apple officially discontinued the 11-inch MacBook Air today, making it no longer available for purchase. Now if you want the cheapest MacBook available, you’re going to have to think bigger.

[contextly_auto_sidebar] The 13-inch version of the MacBook Air is still around. Apple didn’t bump the specs on it today, but with its $999 price tag, the 13-inch MacBook Air will likely remain a popular choice among students and anyone that doesn’t want to drop two grand on a laptop.

Apple said at its event today that the new MacBook Pro is a good replacement for the MacBook Air because it’s thinner and just as light. They must not have considered that the MacBook Air’s price tag is actually one of its best features.

If you do want a new 11-inch MacBook Air, you can grab one for $899 from stores like Best Buy. Once supplies run out, though, it will be gone forever.
