Paying for VPN services for your iPhone and iPad just became a thing of the past, thanks to Opera.

The company is today launching the first free and unlimited VPN for iOS, allowing you to browse the web anonymously, access content that’s blocked in your country, and more — without coughing up a single penny.

As we become increasingly concerned with who’s watching what we get up to online, more and more of us are turning to VPN services to protect our privacy. They can also enable us to get around content restrictions, and help us avoid ad trackers.

For instance, you can use a VPN to visit Facebook and Twitter on a college campus (or from China), or to access services like Hulu outside of the U.S.

The only problem is, VPN services cost money if you need unlimited data. Except Opera’s. Its new VPN service for iPhone and iPad — which comes just two weeks after Opera added free VPN to its desktop browser — is completely unlimited, and completely free.

You can surf the web through virtual locations in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Singapore, and the Netherlands, and you won’t have to hand over credit card details or pay for in-app purchases.

Download the Opera VPN app from the App Store now to get started.
