Paying for VPN services for your iPhone and iPad just became a thing of the past, thanks to Opera.
The company is today launching the first free and unlimited VPN for iOS, allowing you to browse the web anonymously, access content that’s blocked in your country, and more — without coughing up a single penny.
As we become increasingly concerned with who’s watching what we get up to online, more and more of us are turning to VPN services to protect our privacy. They can also enable us to get around content restrictions, and help us avoid ad trackers.
For instance, you can use a VPN to visit Facebook and Twitter on a college campus (or from China), or to access services like Hulu outside of the U.S.
The only problem is, VPN services cost money if you need unlimited data. Except Opera’s. Its new VPN service for iPhone and iPad — which comes just two weeks after Opera added free VPN to its desktop browser — is completely unlimited, and completely free.
You can surf the web through virtual locations in the U.S., Canada, Germany, Singapore, and the Netherlands, and you won’t have to hand over credit card details or pay for in-app purchases.
Download the Opera VPN app from the App Store now to get started.

It’s not free. There are monthly fees.
I can find no evidence of monthly fees. Please explain.
It is free. There are no monthly fees.
Honestly speak I never use free vpn app for ios or ipad because it is a place for hackers by using these free vpn platforms they operate illegal activities that’s why I believe it is better to use paid vpn software like Ivacy and Express which provides data encryption, kill switch It has more country servers.
This used to be a paid service that Opera aquired and then incorporated into the product for free. It has multiple country servers that you can choose from, and data encryption.
It’s an http proxy within Opera……
No, that’s what Opera Mini did previously. Now it’s a fully-fledged VPN service.
I applaud Opera’s concept here, but all users must be mindful that it only works with Opera. If you leave the web browser to check email, upload a file, or see what machines are on the network around you, the VPN is *not* working, and thus your machine is opened to hacking on a WiFi (or wired) network.
you get 500MB for free; unlimited data costs $2.99 per month for the iPhone app.
