Developers can add the latest iOS 9.1 beta to their iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches starting today.
Exactly two weeks after releasing the first beta, Apple has started seeding iOS 9.1 beta 2, build 13B5119e, to developers via an over-the-air update and in the Apple Dev Center.
Update: As of Thursday this week, public beta users can also update to the latest iOS 9.1 public beta 2, as well.
The release notes for the new beta don’t mention any major new features. One of the biggest additions in the first iOS 9.1 beta was a host of new emoji for everything from tacos, unicorns, burritos, and even a mysterious eye-speech bubble of Apple’s own creation.
Along with the new emoji, Apple has included the following bug fixes:
- Fixes an issue where some users could not complete setup assistant after updating
- Fixes an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play
- Fixes an issue in Safari and Photos where pausing video could cause the paused frame to appear distorted
- Fixes an issue where some users with a custom APN setup via a profile would lose cellular data.
We’ll update you with any major new features we find once we get the new beta on our devices.

For the non-beta users, there’s a minor update to download, 9.0.1.

but have the stemmed the massive battery drain ive had on every beta since 9.0……
Why aren’t you guys covering the Use Cellular Data bug in IOS 9 that does not allow any NEW applications to access cellular data when wifi is not available. Settings does not maintain the Enabled On. Resets after leaving screen to Off. Any new app and older applications that had Use Cellular Data set to Off prior to the IOS 9 update. This is a REAL showstopper. And no change in 9.01.
Has anyone else had a problem with video during the first 9.1 beta where any video, no matter the outlet, wouldn’t keep the screen on, so you’d have to keep tapping the screen to watch a video? And also hasn’t the camera app been launching pretty slow or is that just me? And lastly I HATE that I can’t use Apple Music over LTE, I don’t know of that’s a beta bug or just a Apple being Apple
I am not a beta user and have an insane battery drain with both new updates for the regular ole’ people!! I have readjusted my settings after googling the issue, ect, but it’s still doing it. Like using safari for 20 minutes drains my battery by 20-40%. When not using my phone Safari is still draining the battery rapidly, but about 50% less than when I am using it.
