Jang Woo-Seok loves coffee and kisses. But it’s only coffee he gets on a daily basis – that is until he designed a cup lid that provides both.

The designer from South Korea has taken the common coffee cup lid and gave it puckering lips for B2B, a chain of coffee shops in his home country.

“I imagined people (having) pure joy when walking around with the kiss lid in hand,” Woo-Seok told Cult of Mac about a day in the cafe when he began sketching the idea.

The lids will make a lip-smacking debut sometime this week, he said.

The first prototype lid had only a kissable mouth. But then he “realized that the touch of the nose is an essential point in order to feel realistic.”

He used a Greek statue for inspiration but also wanted to ensure a friendly face coming at each coffee drinker.

Woo-Seok’s lids were featured in Wednesday’s edition of Design Boom.

I saw this earlier and thought it was an amazing idea – until I realized the nose is sticking out. Wouldn’t it make sense to make the nose and mouth drop down in the cup to let you pout your nose and mouth in them while drinking? Admittedly no one probably needs to do that, but it seems like ti would be more useful. I should go to sleep. I know I’m missing the point.

Maybe he would be more likely to get daily kisses if he spent less time designing creepy coffee lids?
