Apple Watch preorders are supposed to start delivering on April 24th, but almost everyone we’ve talked to is still seeing a ‘Preparing for shipment’ status on their orders.
Tracking information for Apple Watch orders still haven’t been sent out yet, however, some reddit users have discovered a way to manually pull your tracking info from UPS. The solution is a bit hit or miss, but if you’re desperate for more info about your pre-order it’s worth a try.
Here’s how to find your tracking info:
- Go to UPS.com’s tracking page here
- Select Track by Reference on the left side
- Enter your 10 digit phone number in the Shipment Reference field
- Manually change Shipment Date Range to 4/23/15 by typing it in
- Hit Track
If the tracking info doesn’t show up, try changing the shipment date range to 4/24/15, 4/25/15 or some other dates. Other reddit users have pointed out that you need to use the phone number associated with the credit card it was charged to.
We’ve had limited success with this method at the Cult of Mac offices, but many reddit users have said it worked for them, so keep on trying.

I’m still only seeing “processing” with my order. I placed my order and received confirmation at 3:03AM on 4/10. My delivery estimate is 04/24-05/08. I ordered a 42MM SS with a black sport band. From all that I have seen, it seems to be the Sport models that are preparing to ship. I would love to hear from someone with a SS model who has received shipping confirmation.
I ordered the same model at the same exact time and my order is also still sitting at “Processing Items”…
I also ordered 3:03 AM same model and my order is still processing with no charged card. I live in Portland, OR. Getting super nervous I won’t be getting mine Friday =/
I ordered a 42mm SS White sport band Apple Watch and was charged and my order status says “Preparing for Shipment.” However this UPS trick does not work for me…

Found it! Woohoo!! Check the phone number on your Apple Store account – I found that had an old number still listed and had to put that in for reference. Worked great for me
When you say phone number is that my order number?
No it means phone number like (123)-456-7890
I have one stainless 42mm white sport band coming using the method above. My stainless 42mm with black sport band is still processing.
Worked for me too, coming Friday. 42mm Sport, space grey. Ordered at 12:02 via the iPhone app, paid via Apple Pay.

This worked for me. It says coming Friday the 24th. 42mm Classic Buckle.
42mm sport white band. I’ve yet to receive any shipment updates, but my credit card has been charged and the UPS trick worked for me. It says my package is scheduled to arrive 4/24 by 3pm so we’ll see. I ordered it around 7 am CST on 4/10.
