You can finally pre-order the Apple Watch of your dreams, but if you want one ASAP skip the Space Gray or fancier models.
Shipping times for the Apple Watch have already slipped into May for the Apple Watch Sport, while some of the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition models won’t ship until June or even August.
Deliveries were estimated to arrive between April 24th and May 8th for the first wave of customers that woke up at 12:01 AM to put in their pre-orders. Within minutes shipping times for Apple Watch Sport were pushed backed to 4-6 weeks.

The 42mm space black Apple Watch with black stainless steel link bracelet now isn’t estimated to ship until June. If you’re hoping to match Pharrell’s rose gold Apple Watch Edition, you’ll have to wait until July. And the $15,000 42mm 18-karat yellow gold Apple Watch Edition won’t ship until August.
Apple Watch bands are facing big shipping delays, with some of classic, link, leather loop bands shipping in 2-4 weeks, while all Sport bands won’t ship until MAy.
At this point, you’ll be able to buy the Apple Watch 2 before your order arrives.

You knew this was going to happen. That’s why I set my alarm for 2:30 this morning.
Got mine ordered on the iPhone App within a few moments of it going live, Apple pay made it a little faster, here’s hoping they get the ship times up for everyone. Mines at least saying 24th to 8th. Order 42mm Space Gray Sport.

Exactly really the only issue I had with Apple pay was that it didn’t like the address (it had two saved for some reason) but thankfully I still made it in the first wave. Here’s hope we get them on the 24th :)

agreed — the app went live before the web site. Ordering from the App was ridiculously easy. Managed to get my Apple watch in the first wave, but my Macbook (ordered about 10 after the hour) slipped to 5/15.
Ordered the 42mm Space Gray Sport and got “JUNE”. Because I was trying to do Ship to Store which was disabled. Then Apple Pay said my billing address was wrong. Even though I use Apple Pay all the time and have no problems.
I’m with you Dan. Same watch choices and got June. Made an appointment at my local store to check them out in person tomorrow morning. Likely to cancel my order. After all the time they took to roll this out, having on hand stock so limited is inexcusable.
Ship to Store was never going to be an option, basically never is with pre orders. And Personal Pickup wasn’t going to be either cause it might screw up the other reservation system
as for the June thing, it’s a common game with Apple to go long on those shipping dates and then magically be able to send it out faster. Looks better than giving an early date and pissing off folks by having to push it back
I couldn’t put an order earlier and seeing the lead times now, I’m backing off altogether. The last comment in this article is exactly what crossed my mind earlier: “you’ll be able to buy the Apple Watch 2 before your order arrives”. That and “no, Apple can’t have my money for 4 months with nothing to show for it”. Good luck to those with orders in. I’ll come back when they get their act together and up the production rate.
Sleepy! I completed my transactionfor for the 42mm stainless with stainless bracelet within 30 seconds of UK becoming live and delivery was already 4-6 week!!!!

I’m surprised at the comments on the space gray sport being so crazy in-demand, I guess I thought it wouldn’t be as popular. I got mine in 42mm Space Gray at 2:01am CST and it was in the first wave I guess- says it’ll be here 4/24-5/8. Woot!

much of this product was hype. The stock has been rumored to be delayed for a while now. Many styles disappeared seemingly quicker than most apple products.

Apple Store app. Went into favorites, click apple pay. Done. In and out in about 15 seconds. Apple watch sport silver with white bands 42mm. Can’t wait till the 24th.
