Dong Nguygen struck App Store gold when Flappy Bird became the viral video game hit of the year in early 2014, but after seeing the addicting affects of flapping it first hand, Nguyen says he’s working on a new game that doesn’t involve feathery friends, green pipes or repetitive deaths.

Nguygen took to Twitter this afternoon to give fans a preview of his next his next addicting game by posting a screenshot showing a small helmeted man jumping between two buildings; simple, clean, and probably just as addictive as his original hit.

In an interview with CNBC yesterday, Dong described the upcoming game as some guy jumping from building to building  – kind of like Canabalt.

The new jumping man game will surely follow Nguyen’s signature style of cleverly designed games that offer very simple gameplay, difficult learning curves, and instant gratification (or frustration) for players.

It’s unclear when the new game will launch but it sounds like it will come before the much anticipated return of Flappy Bird. The sequel, planned to launch this August, promises to be less addicting while also adding a new multiplayer mode.

Nguyen’s preview comes on the same day as another Flappy-clone – Flappy Birds: New Seasons – hit the App Store as an exact replica of the original, right down to the creator’s name and art assets but Dong quickly shot the app down on Twitter as a clone.
