Today Twelve South unveiled its new BookBook Travel Journal for the iPad, a leather-bound traveling case that has the vintage look Twelve South is known for. While the outside has the appearance of an old book, the inside of the case allows for storing headphones, cables, and other accessories.
“If your workspace, your business trips or your weekend getaways are now iPad only…you just don’t need that extra large laptop bag anymore,” said Andrew Green, Creative Director of Twelve South. “What you need is a case just the right size for the essentials: your charger, a nice set of headphones, a few cables and your iPad. BookBook Travel Journal keeps everything neatly organized and ready to go without the bulkiness of the old-school computer bag. So next time you travel, all you need is a good book.”
There’s a soft-lined sleeve for storing any iPad model, including the Air and mini. If you’d rather use the BookBook as an accessory bag for your MacBook, it works for that purpose as well. There are four pockets and five elastic bands for storing a range of accessories, including a mouse, charger, and stylus.
The BookBook Travel Journal is available now for $100. If you’d like an idea of its size, Twelve South says that it’s about as big as Walter Isaacson’s hardcover biography of Steve Jobs. How appropriate.
