Glyphish: Stock Icons That’ll Look Great On iOS 7

If you thought the switch from the squat screen iPhone of the iPhones 1–4 to the tall and slim screen of the iPhone 5 was bad, then wait for iOS 7. I have the beta in daily use on my iPhone, and when I go back to my iOS 6-encumbered iPad mini, it feels like I’m visiting my grandmother’s house. Worse: any apps with a lot of heavy UI chrome start to seem as oppressive as a serial killer’s basement.

Thankfully, there’s an easy fix in the simple and clean shape of Glyphish, a set of beautiful icons, illustrations and (not so hot) backgrounds.

Glyphish 6 is a set of resources for developers, and it looks pretty gorgeous. The full set costs $75, which is ridiculously cheap for this kind of thing. And should you just want a part of the package, you can opt for, say, just the icons and pay a mere $25.

I can’t be the only one who will search through the App Store and reject an app if the icon is ugly, and this is only going to get more common when the sleek lines of Apple’s new OS train our eyes to see crust everywhere. Glyphish seems like a great place to get started.
