The RunKeeper apps for Android and iOS have today been updated to add a number of new features, the biggest of which is support for the Pebble smartwatch. Users can now see all kinds of data, such as their pace and the distance they’ve ran, with a quick glance at their wrist while they’re on the go.

That means you no longer have to pull out your smartphone during your run just to check on your progress.

RunKeeper is one of the first third-party apps to offer Pebble support, and it’ll certainly be a welcome upgrade to those who work out with their smartwatch. To celebrate the new partnership, RunKeeper has put together a video that explains how the two work together:

The latest Pebble updates also come with some platform-specific changes, which you can see below.

Android

  • Weight & indoor activity entry: It’s now even easier to enter non-GPS workouts or our weight into RunKeeper, so all those treadmill runs can now count towards your goals.
  • Widgets: RunKeeper finally supports widgets (home and lock screen) on Android, so there’s no need to fire up the app to check on your stats.

iOS

  • New languages: RunKeeper now supports new languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese.

You can download the latest RunKeeper release from the App Store and Google Play now.
