LAS VEGAS, CES 2013 – Last night, the Cult of Mac staff attended a CES event called Pepcom. It’s a heavily sponsored event with hundreds of companies showing off their latest products to members of the press. Some products are not available for retail and a few don’t even have prices yet. Pepcom goes all out on themes. The more elaborate, the better. This year the theme was “tailgating,” so there was a lot of deep fried food and people dressed as football players and cheerleaders.
Here’s some of the fun stuff and people we saw:
First order of business, a cocktail, for courage prepared by the competent bartender, Brian. He makes a mean Gin and Tonic. These lovely ladies are showing off a car adaptor for the iPhone. The flexible silicone means it won’t get tangled. For $60 they can waterproof an iPhone from the inside. Don’t worry, it won’t affect the warranty because they don’t actually open it.These friendly gals are promoting Slacker Premium Radio, Which just added listen on demand, like Spotify.Yurbuds are sports earphones that are guaranteed to never fall out. The $99.99 price tag may seem steep but after seeing the guy on the left do several flips while wearing them, it seems a fair price.Rice Krispy treats on a stick.
